Stan’s Corner, Monday, September 12
The Prayer of Illumination in today’s worship service was very appropriate for 9/11 Sunday: Come Holy Spirit, into our midst as we remember, as we grieve, as we let go, as we hold fast to the promise that we are never alone. That in life and in death we belong to you, O God. In tragedy and in joy, we belong to you, O God. In our memories of the past and our dreams for the future, we belong to you, O God. Come Holy Spirit, into our worship, stir up Memories in need of healing, Anger in need of release, Sadness in need of your solace and strength, O God. Come Holy Spirit into each heart and draw forth from us all that we need to offer you this day. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
