The choir has been practicing a special anthem for Christmas which is called The Beautiful Impossible—what a great two word description of the birth of Jesus as the Son of God—The Beautiful Impossible! There is one verse in particular I like:

“Into our silence, God’s music resounds.

Into our shadows, a star reaches out.

To the mangers of our empty hearts,

God sends a Savior to give life a start!”

The phrase that touches me is “to the mangers of our empty hearts.”  It is a wonderful metaphor to picture our heart as a manger for the baby Christ.
